"It's Not Called a Bribe, It's Called a Campaign Contribution"

Bill Moyers intro on this past Friday's Bill Moyers Journal was once again, brilliant.

One of the greatest news men of our time, Moyers discusses his love of The Onion, the offensive "Barack, the Magic Negro" and how similar our current situation is to state of Fredonia in The Marx Brothers Duck Soup

My favorite part is what Moyers has to say about Rod Blagojevich...

"The Sentators say that anyone Blagovich names will be tainted by the circumstances, but hold on. Isn't what he's doing just another version of how the Senate itself does business? And the House, too. Except that, when money changes hands on Capitol Hill, it's not called a bribe, it's called a campaign contribution. That, as The Onion might say,
is the biggest joke of all."

Take a look...

Bill Moyers is awesome. Too bad I missed the last episode. Who did he interview?

The main interview was with John Lithgow, Bill's neighbor. They discussed poetry. It was wonderful!

Great clip! Makes me want to watch Duck Soup. I don't have a copy, unfortunately. I might just Amazon that sucker.

I love watching Groucho and Margaret Dumont's scenes. Everybody thought she was just too thick to get the humor, when she really DID get it and just didn't think he was funny...:-)
