Black & White Bond

As I've said before, I am a huge James Bond fan.

My father bought me the James Bond Edition of the game Scene It for Christmas two years ago but I haven't event taken it out of the box because no one will play it with me.

Until now, that is.

Cute Derek Czaplewski is an even bigger Bond Fan than I am. So much so that I'm kind of afraid to play Bond Scene It with me. After listening to him talk in brilliant detail about All Things Bond, I'm almost certain he would kick my ass in the game.

But look what he sent me today. This is the first poster for the next Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

I wasn't sure about it at first, but now I kind of love it. Sure, it doesn't have the camp fabulousness of the Octopussy poster, but it's infinitely better than Moonraker, the Bond movie with the tag line, "Outer space now belongs to 007."

Of course, Moonraker also gave us another kick ass Shirley Bassey Bond song, so it's evens out.

My old roommate Anish is a HUGE Bond fan. I think he would kick both of your asses.

I would be willing to play so I can answer every question "Pussy Galore", then giggle.

I really liked the early 70s Bond years...I actually didn't mind Roger Moore as 007. In fact, I thought he was kind of hot. (Well, until "Octopussy," that is...at that point, he clearly needed to head for the glue factory.)

The Bassey themes were the best...although I quite liked the Sheena Easton one, the Garbage one and Tina Turner, too.

I love me some Bond trivia as well. You oughtta try playing setting up an online game somehow, I'd play with ya.

Miss Shirley Bassie....what a voice.

i applied to sing the newest theme song.

i got a letter back saying they were thrilled beyond belief to have such a legend back to do another 007 movie.

a week later, i got another letter from them saying they thought that Heezgay was a typo and to stay 250 feet away from them at all times.

i won't be doing the song after all.

sigh.

The moonraker song "melody" was indeed kick ass... as were Shirley's vocals.

The lyrics, though? Oh my god-- trainwreck.
