"All Our Hopes Are Pinned Upon You..."

I'm not a big flip-flop guy. At all.

I rarely like them on someone else and I usually only wear them when I'm on vacation. And then, only from my hotel room to the beach and back. Never when I'm going out to dinner. Never.

That said, Chris from As Seen From Up Here... saw this pair of flip-flops in Chicago's Red Eye and sent me a text asking...

"If I buy you Wonder Woman flip-flops, will you wear them?"

...to which I replied...

"You frighten me. You really do. And 'Yes'"

So Chris, I found them here at Piperlime. They also have Superman and Batman, but I'm a Princess Diana boy. All the way.

Hmmm... I wonder if I would be allowed to walk on Themyscira (a.k.a. Paradise Island) with these on?

I was kind of hoping they'd have a pair of Wonder Woman sandals also. With laces that go up-the-calf like Wonder Woman first wore in the 40's. You know, when she was getting tied up in hardcore bondage in every single issue.

And people wonder where I got my fascination with being tied up. Please...

One time....when my brother in law was a kid, he was pretending Wonder Woman. He did the spin, slameed against the fish tank, and then screamed like a little girl when the fish tank exploded all over the living room. "Get a cup! GET A CUP!"

I bet he'd love those flip flops now. LOL

Amy - I love that SO MUCH!!! If only that had been captured on video - - Fail Blog would probably call it "Wonder Woman Fail."

More to the point, your brother-in-law enjoyed playing Wonder Woman as a kid. Hmmm... There's a story there... :)

I don't know what I love more - the Wonder Woman flip-flops or Amy's story.
I must share that one....hysterical.

Flip flops are a good gift for someone you want to stop running away from you.
I can hardly walk in a pair and the sound of them flipping and flopping on concrete floors drives me mad.
If i was given these i would probably display them on a wall because they look so cool, but i would never wear them.

That's genius! I need that on a t-shirt! True, so true.

And I'm with you on the sound of flip-flops on concrete floors. Makes me batty.

And you're right - - these are cool. Definitely cool.

I'm new to your blog...it was the title that got me. I was the only little girl who thought Margaret was repressed & banal.
I'm barefoot A LOT. Otherwise can I have a Porsche Cayenne instead, even though I should be thinking of my carbon footprint & asking for a Prius?

Love, love LOVE them to death. I wear flip=flips like most people wear slippers (because I hate shoes and slippers and refuse to wear them as often as I can. I do, like any gay man worth his saltiness, I have shoes for all oocassions. Still, I DESPISE wearing them

And Amy - did any of the fish live?

I think flip-flops can make your carbon footprint smaller. Or at least, more shallow. Because, you know, they don't have high heels...

You would look very cool in those flip-flops (or, "thongs", as the Texans say. Which is weird). Even though I despise flip-flops and flip-flop season.

And hearing them in my office? Maddness.

I do wear flip-flops, however. But only when my pedicure is fresh.

Feet were meant to be bare and running through fields with abandon. All I kept thinking of looking at these flip flops, was can they be voice activated...Imagine stepping into them and having a woman scream "Get off my face! Or better yet, "I don't want to smell your feet" .Came by way of Amy's blog. She's a riot isn't she? (Hugs)Indigo

Oh, Indigo. The boys will have a field day with "Get off my face!"

You should figure out a way to put a little button on them that screams that. Fantastic.

Thanks for the much needed chuckle.

The bible doesn't say anything about coveting flipflops, does it?

Flip flops are VERY "in" now, and not just with shorts or a bathing suit. I see them on hot guys in jeans, too.

Please post a photo of you in your Wonder Woman flip flops!

Wow! who knew my little joke text would garner so much attention!
You like me! You really like me! :)

I like flip flops.. until I create forward motion, then those damn shoes are on a mission to kill me. I'll alter my walk so they're not so noisy, but going down stairs you'd think I was in the Al Capone gun club. POW POW POW POW
