Midnight At The Movies

Question: What's the only thing better than sitting in a dark theatre at midnight surrounded by fan boys while watching Tobey Maguire and Topher Grace wrestle around the city of New York in spandex?

Answer: Being greeted at the front of the theatre by the Silver Surfer himself!

Ok, so this is only a plastic representation of the sterling-clad hottie who heralds the coming of Galactus, but frankly, I wouldn't kick him - - or rather "it" - - out of bed.

And what's better than being greeted at the front of the theatre by the Silver Surfer himself?

A thumbs up from your friend, Ted!

Ted knows everyone: the Silver Surfer, Fred Sanford (see his t-shirt below), even The Simpsons.

It is Ted's dream to someday dance in an Old Navy commercial.

Not that you couldn't have guessed that from the smile on his face in the picture below that seems to say...

"Sha-blam! Cargo Shorts only $8! This week at Old Navy!"

Yes, I have incredible friends who will pose in ridiculous pictures for me.

But this one featuring Star is my new favorite.

Yep, that's Star straddling Bart Simpson.

And yes, Bart - - ever the "cunning linguist"...

...is spelling out the alphabet with his tongue...

...much to Star's joy and amazement.

Oh, and SPIDER-MAN 3 was great, too. Don't believe the tepid reviews. The third installment is action packed and the special effects are gasp-inducing - - an exceptional Spidey flick.

Except for the last 5 minutes which I'm guessing was directed by Nora Ephron.
