Listen to Franklin Pierce Adams and Learn

This is Franklin Pierce Adams.

He was a member of the Algonquin Round Table and among his famous quotes is the following...

"Elections are won by men and women chiefly because most people vote against somebody
rather than for somebody."

So, to those Democrats who supported Hillary Clinton and are now declaring (and for some reason, slightly bragging) that they will vote for McCain instead of Obama, I say this...

Read Mr. Adams quote above and don't be a stupid fuck.

Also, please also refer "The McCain Loyalty Oaths." There's one for gays, one for women and one for straight, white men. Mikey over at The Gospel According to Mikey turned me on to them and they are 100% true.

But if you want four more years of the War in Iraq, if you want to see us sink deeper towards a war with Iran, if you want to pay $6... $8... $10 for a gallon of gasoline, if you want to lose your job, if you want to be evicted from your home, if you want to continue to slash away at this country and its core principles instead of coming together as a people, diverse and beautiful, and beginning to heal, rebuild and restore our nation, then by all means, don't vote for Barack Obama out of spite and see that John McCain wins the election.

But if you do, I will refer to you as a "stupid fuck" for the next four years. Even if you say that you're sorry later on down the road.

I may forgive you four years from now, but I can't be sure of that. As Mr. Adams also said...

"To err is human; to forgive, infrequent."

I may also be guilty of voting "against" a candidate, but thats always been a against a Republican! Never have, never will vote Republican! Why in the world would anyone vote against their own interests?

In the gallery of self-loathing, no pictures are more grotesque than those of the people who vote against their own interests (if you want to be suicidal, whatever, but don't drag the REST of us along with you!).

I hereby solemnly pledge that, no matter how strongly I supported Hillary, I will not be a stupid fuck. [And I'm not just saying that to earn special favors from Stephen. :-p]

Totally linked to this awesome post.
