"The Addie Polks of the World"

Bush signed the "bailout bill," but keep this from CNN in mind...

"(CNN) -- A 90-year-old Akron, Ohio, woman who shot herself as sheriff's deputies tried to evict her from her foreclosed home became a symbol of the nation's home mortgage crisis Friday.

"Addie Polk is being treated at Akron General Medical Center after shooting herself at least twice in the upper body Wednesday afternoon, her city councilman said.

"U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, mentioned Polk on the House floor Friday during debate over the latest economic rescue proposal.

"'This bill does nothing for the Addie Polks of the world,' Kucinich said after telling her story. 'This bill fails to address the fact that millions of homeowners are facing foreclosure, are facing the loss of their home. This bill will take care of Wall Street, and the market may go up for a few days, but democracy is going downhill.'"

Dennis Kucinich should be our President.  But we're not ready to be led by a man who is so progressive in thought, a man who cares deeply for other people, regardless of the color of their skin, their gender, who they sleep with or where they live.  We're not ready as a nation to be led by a man like that.  We're not that advanced.  Not even close.

I voted for Mr. Kucinich in the primaries, because I knew my Obama vote in IL would be one more spit in the river. I wanted Kucinish to hear my mighty Yop over here in IL. Because he SHOULD be our President. But Gotham doesn't always get the hero it needs, it gets the hero it deserves. . .

We vote now by at-home phone poll, and only for Who Should Be The Next Flash-In-The-Pan Singer. And God forbid we think ahead to the consequences of our votes for public officials...*yawn* *eyeroll*...
