"Wait a Second Now. Wait for the Flash"

I took a few days off from blogging - - I was prepping for my 2nd Story story, which was a big success!!! - - so, forgive me for diving back in. Hard. I'm sure more than a few gay folk aren't going to like what I have to say.

I'm a little annoyed at how much I'm seeing Dustin Lance Black.

Not that I was "annoyed" when I saw the naked pictures of Dustin getting plowed on Perez Hilton's site. Those were hot.

But for Dustin, like every other hot gay man who is literally caught with his pants down, the gay community is rallying behind him. Pun not intended.

I wonder what the response in the gay community would be if an over-weight, uber-hairy, bald, 55 year old gay, black man won an Oscar, talked to gay youth about the importance of safer sex practices and then was found getting cornholed bareback by a man named "Doobie."

If that were the case, I doubt seriously if we'd even know his name.

Because, like straight people, gays tend to only care about the cute and the young and the white. God forbid an 8 year old blonde, white girl is lost. The entire nation goes berzerk. An 8 year old black girl on the South Side of Chicago? Not so much.

But Dustin Lance Black is now on the cover of the Advocate. He was just honored by the UN. The fucking United Nations! And tons of gay men and lesbians are calling for a ban of Perez Hilton after Perez showed the world Dustin's dirty pictures.

Of course, they're banning Perez's site AFTER they've checked out and downloaded the naked pictures of Mr. Black.

Perez Hilton is a gossip columnist. If nobody wanted to read his site or see those pictures, he wouldn't be in business. But he is in business. Because we read and we want to see.

So, ban Perez if what he's done to your cute, blonde, young (and as the pictures prove, nicely hung) friend, Dustin Lance Black, bothers you, but don't kid yourself that you're doing it for gay rights or any other such bullshit. Because a few months ago, it was Perez who started the whole bruhaha with Miss California by asking her a question about gay marriage. A question you praised.

So, either be for Perez or against him. You can't have it both ways.

I've never been a fan of Hilton's. He's a nasty creep with nothing better to do than embarrass other people. However, mr. Black has to own up to his behavior and apologize (which I believe he did) for not practicing what he preached. Anyone who makes a sex tape (why are you doing that, in the first place?) and then acts all surprised when it ends up on the Internet, deserves what he gets. Then again, sex tapes sure didn't hurt Rob Lowe's, Paris Hilton's or Pam Anderson's career.

Amen. Every single word.

(By the way, I'm sorry I didn't get to "2nd Story" on Sunday--I didn't get back to Chicago until almost 6:00, and had to unpack! I'm glad it went well.)

I loathe Perez Hilton and always have. I did NOT praise his asking the question of Miss California. He is not the kind of person I support being a spokesperson for gay people; he is a perfect spokesperson for gossip-columnist-blogger types.

I support DLB as a hardworking gay man. I don't find him the least bit physically attractive-- that simply doesn't enter into the equation for me because he's not my type at all. I have no interest in seeing the pictures, and I honestly haven't seen them.

Did DLB make a stupid choice? Absolutely. PH is within his rights to post and blog to his heart's content. The protesters who have lambasted and shunned PH have done nothing but give him more publicity. That's the tragedy of this-- the attention-grabbing whore of all media is continuing to garner support and time in the spotlight.

Did this get extra attention because DLB is white, young and (to many) cute? Probably. But I think more people are proclaiming their righteous indignation because of Black's recent Oscar win on behalf of "Milk." Many see him as a crusading, creative hero who was unfairly attacked by that cruel blogger.

Bad Mr. Black. Bad Mr. Hilton. Sure. There are clearly two sides to this. However, it is unfair to argue that EVERYONE who supports DLB does so because of his looks, color, age or cock size.

I'm quite sure that both Mr. Hilton and Mr. Black have had it "both ways".

My Take:

It's seems to be human nature to want to see celebs naked or engaged in sexual acts. I usually check out the latest batch of photos to surface.

That said, with the internet filled with millions of nude photos, the celeb photos don’t hold my attention for long.

I'm surprised at the Dustin Black Photo Chaos. Who doesn't have nude photos floating around somewhere (ha). When I first heard about this, my first response was, "So what?" And it hasn't changed.

What bothers me is this backlash to DLB for not using a condom. Yes, we should practice safer sex (I do). Yes, he gave safer sex talks (which is great).

But, I doubt in those talks he made statements that condoms must always be used, no matter what the relationship is between the couple. When people are in a relationship, many stop condom use after choosing to be monogamous and getting tested (if this didn’t happen, child birth would stop).

The photos are of DLB and his boyfriend. Not so shocking to me. And not exactly going against the safer sex issue.

We make mistakes. We learn. We move on. I have considered running for a small, local political office, but I remembered... there are those tapes!

I don't know the whole story, haven't seen the pix, and refuse to go to PH's blog on principle. That being said, I think DLB's biggest blooper in this case was allowing there to be any photographic evidence. Don't make sex tapes if you don't want the world to see them, especially if you are celebrity.

Do ya think, maybe 30 years in the future, having a sex tape or naked photos on the Internet WON'T be the end of a political career? Kinda like smoking marijuana WAS the end 30 years ago, but now, using it when you were young isn't even an issue anymore.

I'm really sad that I can't find the nekkid pics of Mr Lance Black. Can you please post a direct link? Perez's site doesn't show them and only provides links to another site that references them, but doesn't show them.

All I'm saying is, My bare back sex photos are waaaaaay hotter.

I think it's like so many other things, jer -- a matter of taste. Some people like men with a lot of body hair, others like men without much of it, still others like hairy and un-hairy men. I don't really see why so many people feel that they have to absolutize their sexual tastes, so that what they like is morally superior to what other people like. I suspect it has something to do with fear of, or distaste for, the non-rational: I couldn't possibly be driven by primal animalistic (but also somewhat arbitrary) desire, so there must be a good reason why I like this man and not that man. But there is no good reason.
