A little "Designing Women" challenge.
Did he do this because, after he posted the "Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" speech on Facebook, I commented that I knew ever word of it verbatim?
Probably.
So, you know what's going to happen, don't you?
One night this week, I will be sitting in my apartment, channeling Julia Sugarbaker and screaming at the top of my lungs.
Sure, that's par for the course at my place, but this time, I'll stick in on YouTube.
Now, who wants to be my Marjorie Leigh Winick?
Hmmm...
Just in case you don't have a clue who Marjorie Leigh Winick is (and if you don't, why are you reading my blog?!?), here's the famous speech from my favorite Southern belle.

This scene is one of the all time BEST of Designing Women. I never tire of watching it! In Atlanta, there is a gay cowboy club that plays this scene each night.
When I was in Atlanta to see Streisand we went to the club after the concert. I was happy to catch the scene! It made my visit to Atlanta complete!
Michael - I believe that bar is named Hoedowns, which just might be my second favorite gay bar name (my all-time favorite being "Manhole").
I've been to Hoedowns, but I didn't catch this clip there. I wish that I had!
Do I get to be Delta Burke or Annie Potts?! Hmm....
That was a great scene...my favorite was the Donna Jo Carnes episode. "Not now, Lyle!!"
That's the best scene ever!
You have to wear the silk dress that Julia mooned half of Atlanta in. That will ace it.
On a side note, Delta Burke was devestatingly beautiful in that show, wasn't she?
Thanks for posting this...it's been a while, but it NEVER gets old!
OOooooooo-weeeee I just love me them designing womens
I would give you 16 and one half minutes of uninterrupted thunderous ovation.
Come to think of it, I want to be Bernice. She had some zingers, too. ("Every time we go to McDonald's, she has to ask me what the fish is like. And I always tell her, 'It's square fish, Phyllis, OK?'" From the same episode as "two Dicks and a hat.")
This is a classic clip!! Can't wait to see YOUR version.
I'll be your Marjorie! I have a handbag and a fringed, white Wilma dress. I'll work on the 80's frost job and sash tonight.
One of my favorite scenes from one of my very favorite shows. Thanks.
