I was re-reading the comments from my post about last Thursday's Vice Presidential debate. Philip wrote the following in response to the idea that Obama and Biden have to say that they are against Gay Marriage so that they can be elected. I couldn't agree more...
"There is NEVER a wrong time to stand for the right thing! I firmly believe that. And maybe that's what makes me a radical instead of a President, but there are very few Presidents from recent history who I would even have in the house. Whereas I couldn't even begin to list the many radicals and activists and artists --both known and unsung-- who have affected massive, positive change.
"Fuck the Presidents and the Panderers. Give me trannies marching down the street, and Ozzie and Harriet sleeping in the same bed on National Television, and the PTA president who brings his husband to meetings with him, and the locally owned gay and gayfriendly businesses, and give me Howard Stern and Gloria Steinam and Winnie the Poo and Pamela Anderson, and every other colorful mother fucker out there not afraid to say what is right whether it's popular or not.
"The office of President has become nothing more than a Place Holder. Incidentally, so is the digit zero.
"Fuck propriety and strategy. My heroes are not zeros."

Best wishes to Philip on a rapid recovery. He has a strong voice! Get well, Philip!
That WAS the most annoying "Schoolhouse Rock" song ever.
(Well, right after "Little Twelvetoes.")
Cute, funny, articulate, and smart...does Phillip need a husband?
java - I will that on to Philip when I see him today.
aaron - Yeah. My favorite? SUFFERIN' UNTIL SUFFERAGE! Loved it!
anatomicsd - Sure, Philip could use a husband, but I'm older and I WAS HERE FIRST!!!!! :)
"Sufferin' Until Sufferage" was my favorite too!! Especially when I found out that the singer was a nice Jewish girl who used to be one of Frank Zappa's entourage...
Phillip is MY hero! Way to go!!!
Mark :-)
I completely agree.
I think Philip should run for office with this belief-- and see just how far he gets.
