"Hey P"

This past Monday night, we went ahead with the reading of Philip's new play, THE HOMOSEXUALS, even though Philip was laying in a hospital bed sporting a pair of red, glittery devil horns and was, therefore, unable to attend.

In his new play, the last scene of the first act takes place in a hospital room.  The main character is recovering from surgery. His appendix had to be removed.

This past Monday morning, as Philip crawled into his hospital bed after having spent 8 hours in the emergency room to be told that his gallbladder had to be removed, Philip looked up at me with puppy dog eyes and said wistfully...

"Oh Stephen, I am my own play."

Philip's surgery is tomorrow.  This isn't a dangerous operation, but as my father says, "Minor surgery is when they're operating on someone else," so keep Philip in your thoughts tomorrow.

And if that's not your thing, just go with it. Remember that what Philip writes soon becomes reality.  He could cut a bitch and never leave his Mac!

My supervisor and my uncle in law (is that a thing?) both had their gall bladders removed this year. They were back up and going in no time. Well wishes to Philip.

So, what Philip writes becomes reality... Does he take commissions? I have a few things I want written.

That suit is a crime in at least 5 states. Does Philip know this?

They've kept him in the hospital a long time before doing the surgery. Is he going stir crazy? My thoughts and prayers are with him today. You will post an update, yes?

Daren and I took Philip a monkey in the hospital. Last night I talked to him on the phone and he sad thoughtfully, "I have four monkeys here now." I think it's so great that everyone thought he needed a monkey. "Brooke, that's so many monkeys." Everyone is invited to MY new play called "Philip Goes to the Hospital" because it's a god damn comedy. Stephen I will call you later and see if it's cool to stop by (assuming you will be there?) xo

I guess this would be a case of life imitating art!
