"Positive Reinforcements"

I have some sad news.  My good friend Philip is in the hospital.

He's been having abdominal pain since Saturday, which got worse last night, so he RODE HIS BIKE (wtf?) to the emergency room.  A few of us got a text around 5 this morning, so I went to the hospital and stayed with him until a few minutes ago.

His hospital room is full of friends and he's feeling somewhat better - - probably because of the morphine they've been shooting into his veins.  The doctors think it's his gallbladder, but they're not sure.  He's waiting to take one test to determine whether or not his gallbladder has to be removed.

But Philip being Philip, the hilarity ensues throughout the pain. Another friend of his brought devil horns for him to wear on his head, which he has on now.  And he had them on when the hospital priest came in to see if he needed anything.

He also had the horns on when Bertha, the cleaning woman, came in.  She took one look at the horns and told us she would come back later.  When I told her that we would page her if we needed her she said...

"Don't page me, I'm a child of God!"

Only with Philip.

Say a prayer and/or keep Philip in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

(If it is gall bladder, thank God the surgery is simpler now! And not a big incision at all...)
